Volunteer

Every wagging tail and gentle purr at Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter has a story—and you can be part of their next chapter.

We’d love for you to join us in caring for the dogs and cats who are waiting for their forever homes. Whether you have a little time or a lot, your presence truly makes a difference. From comforting a shy kitten to giving a playful pup the attention they crave, every moment you spend here helps an animal feel safe, loved, and one step closer to adoption.

There’s a place for everyone here. Volunteer opportunities can be tailored to your interests, abilities, and skills, and we’re grateful for any time you can give—whether it’s an hour a week or several days. Some of our biggest needs include helping with cleaning, and spending time socializing animals.

Getting started is easy—just stop by the shelter and fill out a quick form, or fill it out online by clicking the button below. We welcome volunteers Tuesday through Saturday, from 8 AM to 4 PM.

Volunteers must be 18 or older, unless accompanied by a parent. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes (no sandals) and clothes you don’t mind getting a little messy—because the best moments here often are.

Have questions? Give us a call—we’d love to talk with you.

Come meet your new furry friends… they’re waiting for you

Make a Donation

The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter’s work is made possible through support from the communities we serve, along with vital funding from grants, fundraisers, and—most importantly—compassionate donors like you.

Every gift, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. You can donate quickly by clicking the Donate button. We also welcome you to come by the shelter to drop off a donation, or mail it to us at 870 Bear Creek Rd, Lavonia, GA 30553.

From nutritious food and clean bedding to lifesaving medical care and vaccinations, every dollar helps us provide comfort, healing, and hope to animals in need. Please consider becoming a monthly donor to create a lasting impact all year long.

Tax-deductible receipts are available for all contributions.
